“Debating Economics”: 1st Regional Debate HS

The first Regional Debate of high schools for this year was held in Tirana on April 1st as part of the Debating Economics program by Junior Achievement of Albania. A total of 18 high schools from the region participated in the event, with about 54 high school students debating with each other on three debate sessions. Participants represented debate clubs of their schools from the cities of Tirana, Kavaja, Shijaku, Dibra, Kuçova, Lezha, Fieri, Përmeti, Korca and Kukësi.

The debate sessions were intense, with students showcasing their research skills and public speaking abilities. The judges evaluated the students based on their arguments, teamwork, and delivery.

The Regional Debate aimed to promote and increase the debating capacities of participants in high school debating clubs as part of the JAA Debating Economics Program. During the activity the students had the opportunity to put into practice all the skills acquired during training and debating sessions within their club with peers from other schools. Following the regional debate, debate clubs will be ranked in order to identify the qualified teams that will advance to the National Debate Competition.
