Junior UP Demo Day 2022

The ‘JUP Journey’ arrived at its peak moment on September 15, when 6 startups pitched their startup progress in front of 5 investors.

8 startups started the journey on November 2021 with great aspirations and determination to develop their ideas. With over 120 hours of mentoring, and more than 10 thematical checkpoints from local & Swiss EP international experts, the teams made use of the most contemporary approaches to building scalable startups with 2 main goals:

  1. Test their hypothesis on the real market in order to build a sustainable business,
  2. Prepare themselves and startups to be investable in front of the investors on Demo Day and beyond.


Through a 3 minutes pitch, the startups showed their learnings, potential, and future plans they could achieve by asking for a $10K investment in their companies. The investor panel was made of high-value investors and entrepreneurs in the Albanian ecosystem, such as:

  1. Martin Mata – Co-Executive Director of AADF,
  2. Aleksandër Sarapuli – Co-Executive Director of AADF,
  3. Elvin Guri – Entrepreneur/Investor,
  4. Dorin Rama – CEO of Crimson Finance Fund Albania,
  5. Kushtrim Xhakli – Director of Connected Inventions.


Other distinguished guests such as Jakob ModeerProgram Manager Western Balkans Swiss Entrepreneurship Program, representatives of the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, Erion NakoCountry Manager of SDA Albania by Protik, Dritan Mezini – Founder of DuaPune.com and Shkelzen MarkuCoFounder of Yunus Social Business Balkans, congratulated the progress of the batch as a whole and shared their insights on the importance of JUP Program on the ecosystem.


The investor panel chose 3 teams to invest a $10K cheque at the end of Demo Day:

  1. Dora Creative Agency, a creative agency that offers digital marketing services by teaming up high-quality creative freelancers, founded by Antonio, Demiri & Orjana Çekrezi,
  2. LikSad e-bikes, offering audio guides for both lovers of exploring by e-bikes as the ones that love to explore Albania by walking, with the great independency to have control of their journeys while getting informed about Albania through the dedicated app, founded by Sadi Lika,
  3. Switch Technologies, offering high-quality coding courses in-person/hybrid/fully online for youngsters and people that want to reorientate their careers towards technology, without the need to travel to Tirana, founded by Kleo Zane & Klised Rungo.


The 3 other teams of the batch will continue to work closely with the JUP team and mentors to iterate their startups according to the feedback and advice from the investors.

JUP Demo Day 2022 was held with the support of the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship on behalf of the framework of the ‘Open call for support by grant of startups and startup facilitators’.
