The academic year 2021-2022 marked for the first time the establishment of JAA’s Debating Clubs in 23 schools of secondary and higher education in Albania. 460 students, part of these clubs, developed their debating and research skills, argumentation, improved their communication and public speaking skills.
After the gained experience in the Regional Debate, 60 students participated in the First National Debate between high schools, organized by JA of Albania on September 24, 2022. The participants represented Debate Clubs of schools from such cities as Tiranë, Gramsh, Korçë, Elbasan, Kuçovë, Durrës, Përmet, Kukës, Sarandë and Shkodër.
Main rounds of debate were successfully held in the premises of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana. The participating clubs faced each other in front of a team of judges, part of “Debating Economics” to debate over a topic as complex as it is current: “This House would ban the use of Digital Rights Management technologies”.
The final session of the debate pitted against the two finalist teams of the schools “Kostandin Kristoforidhi” Elbasan and “5 Tetori” Kuçovë.
The debating team of the school “Kostandin Kristoforidhi” Elbasan was the winner of the First National Debate of the high schools organized by Junior Achievement of Albania.
