About 240 students of the debate clubs of 13 Faculties and Universities in Albania were involved in the trainings conducted during March by Junior Achievement of Albania, which focused on the development of students’ knowledge and skills in the field of competitive debate and further on the development of critical thinking, research and academic writing, to develop their academic work and prepare arguments in debate. This block of training represents one of the main pillars of all trainings on increasing student capacity. Four weeks all about debate world, students and more, in several interactive trainings which were all about generating new ideas, enhancing skills, networking and having a “good-quality” time.
In the frame of the “3E-English-Entrepreneurship-Employability” project in collaboration with US Embassy in Tirana, Junior Achievement had the chance to train debate club teams of 4 Foreign Languages Faculties of Albanian University in Durres, Tirana, Elbasan and Korça regarding debate format ad main values of it. Students meet one specific format of competitive debate and specific rules applied for it, starting from the order of speaking to argumentation and rebuttal process.
Alongside, 9 Universities part of the program form Tirana, Durres, Elbasan, Korça, Vlora and students form debate clubs of 4 Foreign Languages Faculties were trained regarding debate key elements such as critical thinking, academic writing and research. Students had the chance to meet and further develop their critical way of thinking and to better use elements from academic writing world and research to ace not only their debate presentation, but also their path toward employability and entrepreneurship.
